{Half} Day in the Life with the Joyce Family
Perception: a way of regarding, understanding, or interpreting something; a mental impression. The perception of how we see our lives probably differs from day to day but what is the common thread? What defines you and/or your family?
You could say being a part of the military community might define this fabulous family, and of course that’s a big part of their life, but I don’t believe it defines them. After spending the afternoon/evening with the Joyce family, the words that come to mind are connection and love. From 8 years old down to 6 months old, the energy level is high in the Joyce house, but ‘M’ and ‘K’ don’t miss a beat. Through the daily events, chores, bickering siblings, feedings, homework and more, one of the things that continues to be a steady presence in the Joyce house, is the love and connection between them. I was smiling behind my camera so often through this evening. ‘M’ told me about the word ‘A’s teacher used to describe her…effervescent. You guys…this is the perfect word for her! She’s always busy, and I love how positive she is! I also had to crack up when I caught a picture of her sneaking food off the counter before dinner…sweet treats you might think, but no, bell peppers! When you sneak…sneak right! ha!
Like I mentioned in a previous post, I love catching those little moments, and I hope I did plenty of the same for this family! I was able to hang out during valentine making, picking up ‘P’ from school, making dinner and more. I love seeing how much ‘A’ looks up to her big brother and how the two older ones truly adore their baby brother. Baby Ro even got to try cereal for the first time while I was there! His faces had me cracking up. ‘P’ is the best big brother. I loved seeing his reactions as his brother was trying his new foods; he was truly full of excitement for the little guy! Thank you Joyce family for allowing me to follow you around, I am SO grateful for the opportunity. You are all such beautiful people, inside and out. I love your connections with each other…I left your home with a big smile on my face. I hope these photos are something you can look on and do the same.
After seeing these precious little moments with the Joyce family…
