Milky Way | Joshua Tree National Park
When I started mapping out our road trip to my friend’s wedding out West, I knew one of the spots had to be Joshua Tree…because obviously it’s a favorite. This time though, I wanted to make it a point to photograph the Milky Way. I had never attempted shooting the Milky Way because everywhere I’ve lived has been way too light polluted to do so without driving way out to the middle of nowhere so I thought while we were in California, Joshua Tree would be the perfect place to try. I am beyond excited with what I was able to get. One of our camping neighbors decided to add a ton of wood to their fire during a few of my long exposures and I got kind of annoyed at first because I assumed my shot was ruined but…their fire lit the mountain just right! So I wasn’t annoyed anymore 😉
I love Joshua Tree. The desert has it’s own kind of beauty and I’m so happy my daughter got to experience it. More on that in another blog to come this week. For now, enjoy the Milky Way photos and let me know what you think in the comments below!
