Ten Dollar Dresses + Fabric=Amazing | White Sands National Monument

I have one word for White Sands National Park…amazing. This was one of those stops that I kept wondering if it would ever come because if you’ve ever driven through New Mexico, you know there’s not a lot out there. Then, I finally notice some white dust blowing off in the distance. Could it be? We finally made it?

YES!
It was almost an unreal scene, these beautiful, perfect white sand dunes in the middle of the brown desert. The day was about 95 degrees and the sand was perfectly cool on our feet due to the fact that it’s gypsum sand and there’s a water table underneath. Quite amazing. We spent some time in the gift shop, renting sleds, and looking at every gem and rock there was since my girl is obsessed…then we made our way to the best part, Sledding down the dunes!
After having some fun sledding down the gypsum sand dunes for awhile, my daughter was actually in the mood to do some photos. We pulled out the $10 dresses I found on eBay and packed at the last minute, and we had a quick shoot! These are some favorites from this part of our day.
