Top 5 Things that Will Help You Rock Senior Session
Your Senior Year is a huge deal and your senior pictures are too!
Senior sessions are our favorite type of session to do because seniors are full of creativity and they have their whole life ahead of them, the world is at their fingertips. It’s actually really refreshing.
We wanted to take the time and share our top five tips that will help seniors have an awesome photo shoot experience.
1. Bring a variety of outfits and accessories.
It’s ok to bring too many because that’s what we’re here for, helping you look and feel your best in your pictures. I always say to bring at least one outfit that Mom likes too. She should be included in this fun experience.
You also want to make sure your clothes are wrinkle-free…nothing worse than having a killer outfit then looking like you slept in it…not to mention your photographer isn’t going to like fixing that. As for accessories…we don’t want them to steal your thunder, but just the right touch can really make your photos ‘Pop’.
2. For the girls…chippy nail polish doesn’t look good, make sure to have fresh nails. Also, if you tan, don’t overdo it. Use chap stick frequently to avoid chapped lips, those crusties don’t look good either. For the boys…make sure to shave, and if you need a haircut, do it about a week before your session. It’s always ‘just right’ about a week out.
3. Props!! This is another thing you that you can bring as many as you want and we’ll use what we can within your session time. If you like reading…bring a giant stack of books, if you like painting bring your canvas and paints, if you like skateboarding bring it! If you like sewing, bring some of your creations, if you like music, bring your headphones, or instruments, whatever you’re into, we can make it work! This can be really fun…go with it!
4. Relax! I know it can be nerve-racking getting your photos taken (trust me…I’m behind the camera for a reason) but truly…if I have to act like a total nerd to get you to relax, I will (it’s actually my most natural state anyway) 😉
No but really, if you relax and just have fun your pictures will show that. We are often times filming during your session for a film reel so again…the more fun and more natural you are, the better it turns out. Why not have fun with it anyway, you are only a senior once! Enjoy it all!
5. Do you have a creative idea for your pictures? Let us hear it! It’s a collaboration! Tell us your idea and we’ll tell you ours and we’ll create something epic and one of a kind! We like being different…you don’t want pictures like everyone else anyways.
